Dr. San Murugesan is part of the executive management and a member of the advisory board of GSTF. He is a former Senior Research Fellow at the US National Research Council, NASA Ames Research Center, California, USA. He also currently serves as an Associate Editor-in-Chief, for IEEE IT Professional magazine.
In a career spanning 34 years in industry and academia, Dr Murugesan lead successfully several innovative IT projects, provided leadership in teaching and research, and offered consultancy to business. His expertise and interests span a range areas and includes green computing, cloud computing, Web 3.0 and 2.0, mobile computing applications, e-business, innovation, IT project management, and offshoring.
Professor Murugesan has edited the widely acclaimed Handbook of Research on Web 2.0, 3.0, and X.0: Technologies, Business, and Social Applications (Information Science Reference, 2009), and co-editor of the upcoming book, Harnessing Green IT: Principles and Practices (John Wiley, 2011).
He has written over 250 articles and reports, and presented keynotes, seminars and short courses and workshops. He edits and contributes to IT Professional’s new department, IT in Emerging Markets. Dr. Murugesan served in various senior positions at Southern Cross University and the University of Western Sydney, both in Australia, Multimedia University in Malaysia, and the Indian Space Research Organization, Bangalore, India.
In 2006, the Council of the Australian Computer Society elected Dr. Murugesan to the grade of Fellow of the Australian Computer Society (ACS).
